About
Beachcomber Cottage is nestled within the heart of the picturesque village of Cushendall. All amenities, a forest, three play parks and the beach are ready for you to explore just a short stroll away from the front door of the cottage. The village hosts traditional bars, several restaurants and cafes, quaint gift shops, grocery stores and a library. Cushendall is a quiet coastal town nestled in one of the nine Glens of Antrim, it is the ideal base to explore the Causeway Coast and Glens. For fans of The Game of Thrones series film locations are within a short distance of the cottage.
The Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Bushmills Distillery and the beautiful seaside towns of Ballycastle, Billintoy Harbour, Portrush and Portstewart are within one hours drive from Cushendall. Making it the ideal location to relax or seek adventure.
Built in the early 1830s Beachcomber Cottage has been lovingly restored to reflect its historical significance within the community, while insuring our guests have all modern conveniences.
The cottage is bigger than it appears from the outside. The yellow front door opens onto a large living area with comfortable leather two seater and three seater sofas, a well stocked bookcase, card table and selection of board games. This is a cosy room to sit in front of the open fireplace where coal, turf and logs will be available for your use. This room leads into a spacious dining/kitchen area. The dining room table sits six people comfortably although chairs are available for eight (high chair available on request). The kitchen is well kitted out with everything you'd need to cook for your family or friends with all new appliances and many kitchen gadgets for any budding chef's.
The cottage sleeps seven over three bedrooms. The upstairs rooms consist of a twin room (the rose room) with two single beds, a triple room (the teal room) with a double bed and single bunk bed and a double bedroom (the garden room). All the bedrooms have been individually decorated with antiques and collectibles making each room have it's own unique feel and style.
The bathroom has been beautifully decorated with an underwater theme, where you can relax in the roll top bath or use a separate electric shower for your convenience.
Outside are the walled gardens over two levels with very different styles. The lower garden is landscaped with lawn and raised beds made from railway sleepers. There is hand built BBQ made from reclaimed red bricks and a herb garden for your use. Wooden steps lead you up to the wildlife garden where you'll find stepping stones through a wildflower meadow to a raised decking area. There you can relax and listen to the native birds and if you're very lucky you might even spot a red squirrel which live in the forest behind the cottage.Or just chill and watch the sun set behind the Lurig Mountain.
Beachcomber cottage is a beautiful balance of Boutique hotel styling with seaside vibes.
