Monty Halls meeting the locals
Modern day adventurer, marine biologist and travel writer Monty Halls has explored all over the world - now it's Northern Ireland's turn. Monty was here for a few weeks and spent time exploring Northern Ireland through the local characters he met and who are featured in our videos. Find out more about Monty's adventures below.
Monty learns all about the ancient craft of hurl making at Scullion Hurls, discovers our local history and heritage, drives through our impressive landscapes and signs the Peace Wall in Belfast on one of our famed Black Taxi Tours.
Monty samples the sights, sounds and smells that Northern Ireland is famous for with a trip to award-winning St George's Market, a fishing trip with a difference where he catches and cooks his own breakfast and visits one of our many distilleries where gin and whiskey are distilled on-site and available to buy and of course sample. And there are plenty of opportunities this Autumn to Taste the Island with themed events and food festivals to experience.
Monty experiences the Wild
From sea cliff climbing to exploring a labryinth of underground caves millions of years old, Monty reconnects with the world around him. He explores the heart of the country and ancient castle ruins, horse rides through a forest park and experiences sleeping under the stars in a lakeside dome in a forest.
