Northern Ireland is proud to host the return of The 153rd Open and we want everyone to embrace our giant welcome on arrival.

We're calling on primary and secondary school children across Northern Ireland to take part in a tee-rific art competition, as part of the giant welcome for hundreds of thousands of visitors to The 153rd Open at Royal Portrush this July.

The winning designs will appear as part of Tourism Northern Ireland’s marketing activity welcoming visitors this summer, as well as winning a family getaway in Northern Ireland. Plus, one lucky final winner will win 4 tickets to The 153rd Open!

While encouraging artistic interpretation, the winning artwork will represent what the people and places of Northern Ireland mean to you and how you want your home to be seen by global golf fans.

Entry Forms and Size of Artwork

This is your chance to get creative and show us how you would welcome the world to Northern Ireland through an original drawing.

To be considered for judging, your original artwork must fit within the blank space outlined in the entry form, along with the completed consent form.

A few things to note:

- provide artwork in portrait (rather than landscape) format

- print the entry forms on individual pages, rather than doubleside printing (ie. your artwork should be completed on a standalone page, and your details on the accompanying page, separately)

- All artwork must be posted and submitted in original format, not a photocopy or scan. Only original artwork can be accepted.

- Submit your artwork in flat format only; it should not be rolled, folded or framed.

Use of materials

The work that you submit may be drawn in pencil, pen and ink, crayon, markers or felt tip pens (preferred). We encourage you to be as creative and as colourful as possible.

Prize

The winning submissions (x6) will each win a family overnight stay in Northern Ireland, plus an overall winner, selected after an online public vote, will win four (4) tickets to attend The Open, Royal Portrush in July.

The winners will also have their artwork displayed on outdoor advertising locations, as well as in other marketing formats.

*The prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable. No cash alternative will be offered. Details displayed on the outdoor advertising formats will be limited to first name, county and age only.

Crowds watching and enjoying The Open

The Open returns to Royal Portrush in County Antrim in July 2025 for The 153rd Open. When it was last here in 2019, crowd favourite Shane Lowry emerged triumphant and we can't wait to see who comes out on top this year.
