Below you'll find all information relating to parking, travel and public transport options relating to The 153rd Open Championship.

By Foot

If you are staying in Portrush, walking is the easiest way to access the event. The main public entrance will likely be located on Dunluce Road, close to the main entrance to Royal Portrush Golf Club, and there will be signage and volunteers on hand to assist.

By Bike

If cycling to the event there will be provision to lock your bike close to the main entrance.

By Car

If using sat nav, only follow this until you see the event signage. Then follow the designated routes.

Event Parking

Cark parking details for the event are yet to be announced. Spectators without a valid car park pass will be directed to use the park and ride and park and walk sites detailed below.

Public transport

Public transport connections are yet to be announced. Full details of public transport options will be available on the Translink Journey Planner closer to the time of the competition. Portrush is accessible via train from Belfast direction, including stops at Whitebbey, Mossley West, Antrim, Ballymena, Cullybackey, Ballymoney and Coleraine. It is also accessible via trains from the Derry-Londonderry direction calling at Bellarena and Castlerock. NI Railways

Normal scheduled NI Railways services will operate during the period of the tournament. Spectators are encouraged to travel by train and make their onward journey to Portrusg with Ulsterbus.  Full details will be available on the Translink Journey Planner closer to the Competition.

Crowds watching and enjoying The Open

It may have taken 68 years for The Open to return to Northern Ireland but it was more than worth the wait as home favourite Shane Lowry emerged triumphant at Royal Portrush. The Open will now head back to the County Antrim coast in 2025 for The 153rd Open.
