About

Hear the story of one of the major shipbuilding cities of the world at the beginning of the last century brought to life by an expert guide.

Where shipbuilding is concerned, Belfast needs no introduction: home to the World Famous Harland & Wolff shipyard, builders of the perhaps best-known ship in history.

With a knowledgeable local guide in tow, you’ll learn all about the famous names – and the not-so-famous! – that have become synonymous with Belfast’s Maritime Mile.

The story of how Belfast was transformed from a small settlement in the 1600s to one of the UK’s most important ports just a few centuries later is one you won’t soon forget.

You’ll hear a truly authentic account of what it was like to work in the world-famous shipyard at the time of Titanic’s construction, and get up close to some of the existing infrastructure along the historic Maritime Mile including Titanic’s Slipway and Dry Dock.

Donal himself worked for 17 years in a nearby Aerospace Company and has been offering tours as a Blue Badge Level 4 Guide in Belfast since 2016. In that time he’s witnessed the many changes to the area now known as the Titanic Quarter.

Better still, his very own great grandfather worked as a joiner at Harland & Wolff during the construction of  Titanic and the Olympic Class of ships, making him the third generation of his family to earn their living in the area.
