About

Everyone has their favourite cocktail, but few people know why. Discover your preferences for one drink over another through a series of sensory experiments - and delicious drinks! - on the Sensorium Experience run by Taste and Tour Belfast.

Learn what kind of taster you are through an exciting and intriguing series of experiments. Begin in the Sensorium room where you’ll meet your guide and set off on this interactive experience. Not only does this experience bring your sense of taste under scrutiny, but your sense of smell will be tested too with many different scents. You'll quickly discover that scent forms an integral part of how the body experiences flavour.

Soon you’ll meet The Inhibitor, an artificial intelligence that will educate you on the 32 senses with which you continue your flavour journey. Take a sip of a freshly prepared drink, just to your liking, and enjoy the views from a secret roof garden overlooking Belfast. Then prepare for the scratch-and-sniff test, which helps you to identify the scents you enjoy. How many on the card can you identify without help?

The setting for this unique and intriguing experience is one of Belfast’s finest, and most beautiful buildings, dating back to the 1860s, which combined with the Sensorium makes for a wonderful way to spend time in the city centre. Whether you’re a cocktail connoisseur, a mocktail maestro or know little to none about your senses let alone which drinks you like, this is perfect for everyone and a great way to spend time with friends and family.
