About

The first thing you’ll notice when you set foot on the streets of Belfast is the walls. You can find mural art on almost every corner of the city. Historically, this art has reflected the divisions in the city. But in recent years, something transformative has been bubbling across the walls of Belfast, with a growth in mural art of a less divisive nature.

Street artists from across the globe have joined a new breed of Belfast based street artists to leave their mark on the city, and paint walls that bring people together. Much of this art is emerging in Cathedral Quarter, where the annual festival Hit the North takes place.

Seedhead Arts, curators of this festival, know the artists, the stories, and understand the importance of highlighting this changing narrative. Their Street Art Walking Tour, devised and led by local artists who have driven the scene in the last few years, showcases just that.

On this gently paced, two-hour guided street art walking tour, you’ll see the incredible street art currently adding to the atmosphere of Belfast city centre. The tour will help you understand Belfast’s relationship with street art and will show you how the narrative of the city is changing. As you stroll the city streets, you’ll stumble across world-class masterpieces in the most unexpected nooks and crannies around the city, so keep your eyes peeled! You’ll see first-hand that the vibrancy of Belfast no longer speaks of past divisions, but of the place that Belfast is becoming.
