About

You will learn the basics of stand up paddle boarding (SUP), then coast across to a remote island for a chance to reconnect with yourself and the world around us.

Some swear that starting your day with a sun salutation will leave you more energized than the strongest cup of espresso you can imagine. Sunrise SUP and Island Yoga at Strangford Lough, County Down, is all the proof of this you need.

SUP is a form of slow adventure. Feel your body and mind become as still as the gentle waters below, as your thoughts drift and the stresses of everyday life float away. It’s a great way to help your balance, agility, and general fitness. Don’t worry if you’ve never tried this before, beginners are more than welcome and you’ll be shown the basics of SUP before setting off.

As the waves and sounds of nature guide you, you might catch the crescendo of the dawn chorus or if you’re lucky see the cheeky bob of a local seal. Connecting with nature has a way of grounding us, the physical and mental benefits of island yoga can help with just that. Breathe in… breathe out and let the serenity of this moment on a remote island wash over you. After stretching out any tensions, you will enjoy a locally sourced light breakfast before returning to shore.

Paired with SUP, you’ll face the day feeling invigorated and refreshed. All you need to bring is your yoga gear, swimwear for under the wetsuit, a towel, and something warm just in case. Your guide will provide the rest!
