St Aidan's Parish Church EHOD 2022


St Aidan's Parish Church, Salters Grange is the work of Architect Thomas Cooley and is built on a site given by Sir Capel Molyneux of Castledillon and funded by Archbishop Richard Robinson, First Baron Rokeby for whom he produced a pattern book of ten church designs. The original book is held in the Robinson Library.

Archtect Thomas Cooley and Archbishop Richard Robinson are names synonymous with the city and district of Armagh. With Archbishop Robinson providing the financial resources for Cooley who designed and supervised the building of many of the important Georgian buildings of the City including the Royal School, The Observatory, The Public Library, The Archbishops Palace and the Gaol. Come and learn through a guided walk about the detailed history and architecture of the church and other historic sites in the immediate vicinity. Guided walks at 12.00 and 14.00 each day.
