About
This is the only mainline-size heritage railway anywhere in Ireland. Trains run through the County Down countryside for 2 miles from Downpatrick to Inch Abbey. There is a station museum, you can explore a vintage signal cabin and the carriage gallery with a display of locomotives and carriages from the past 100 years.
For this weekend we are offering totally free access to our carriage and locomotive museum with behind the scenes tours of our restoration workshops and other areas of the railway.
Kids can dress up in period costume and play in our children's play area while tickets will also be on sale for a trip on our heritage diesel railcar as seen in Derry Girls to Inch Abbey and back.
