About

‘Breathe’ outdoor family festival on Coleraine Campus 19th June 12 – 4pm

A mini family-friendly festival in a day, inspired by the summer solstice.

Reconnect, relax, and reset with the Riverside Theatre and Ulster University Sports Centre on Saturday 19th June 2021 from 12 – 4 pm on the Coleraine Campus. The Riverside Theatre is delighted to present its new mini-festival Breathe, taking place outdoors on the beautiful grounds of the Ulster University campus. The festival is a celebration of emerging from lockdown, with arts and craft workshops for children and adults, nature trails, dance, yoga, mindfulness, and much more.

There will be a special family forest nature trail, eco-friendly arts and crafts workshops for children, lead by artist Elaine Taylor (visual art coordinator at Stendhal Festival) which includes a trio of craft workshops, where children can make their own dreamcatchers, mono prints and necklaces all inspired by nature and the solstice.

Everyone is welcome to try their hand at a spot of outdoor Hatha Yoga with facilitator Heather Wright, taking in beautiful views of the River Bann and Donegal in the distance. We’ll also have a lantern making workshops with Lorna Gough, fun family dance sessions with Rebekah Warnock and live music from Peter Thorogood of the Harbour Bar, Portrush.

If that’s not enough, there will also be a campus litter pick with Live Here, Love Here, disc golf on campus, and Truva Riverside will be providing outdoor refreshments with a delicious family barbecue serving up tasty treats and putting everyone in the summer spirit.

The event is COVID-safe, and everyone is welcome. Please note, booking for workshops is strongly advised.
