About

Take a city hop from Derry to Belfast on our fabulous 42’ yacht. Choose from destinations like Portrush, Rathlin Island (the northernmost point of Northern Ireland), Ballycastle, Portballintrae & more. Along the way, pass the iconic Giant’s Causeway & the stunning Antrim coastline.

You will be in the safe hands of our experienced skipper, Daniel Gallagher, who has over 30,000 nautical miles under his belt. Dan is a qualified RYA Cruising Instructor, Yacht Master Ocean and RYA Advanced Powerboat Instructor.

Sailing from Lough Foyle offers “probably” the best cruising area in the world. Depending on your experience and on how much you want to learn, you decide how ‘hands on’ you want to be. We offer on-board tuition in the operation of the vessel, safety procedures, introduction to sailing and navigation. If you want to take the wheel, Dan will be at your side, and you can all pull together as a crew, no matter how much experience you have. Your trip includes all teaching aids and books necessary to prepare you for your Coastal Skipper/Yacht Master exam.

Our yacht, ‘Coriolis’ is a fast sailyacht and it performs beyond expectations. It behaves just as well on short active racing tacks as on laid-back cruises downwind.

Though it’s primarily built for active sailing, it is also a great example of good living afloat. Below deck, is a magnificently crafted interior in fine wood. There’s a handsome saloon for entertaining, three double cabins, and two head compartments with shower. There is plenty of locker and stowage space and an enviable galley (kitchen) for cooking. Everything has been designed for comfort and convenience, and a high standard of on-board living.

Call Dan to discuss your trip on 07720 464 085 or email daniel@sailingnorth.co.uk.
