About

The first challenge is the Salmon fishing. Fly fishing for salmon fishing on one of the Foyle rivers. You will have the luxury of an experienced guide who will also be able to tell you stories of the river along the way. The aim is to capture a Salmon as quickly as possible to allow you time to finish the other tasks.

From the river to the field, the second challenge is the bird shooting. This will take place in either Tyrone or Donegal where you will have the services of a dog handler and retrieving dog throughout.

The third and final challenge is deer stalking and attempting to shoot a stag under guidance of one of our stalkers. Again, this will take place in either Tyrone or Donegal (depending on estate access). To be able to shoot a stag you will need to demonstrate competency in the absence of a deer stalking qualification.

By taking part in this package you can expect to learn the basic principles of stalking a deer with the extra security of always being under strict guidance. You will be shown the best fly fishing techniques, depending on the location and conditions as well as being shown how to set up the rod and casting if it is required.

The best time to take part in this experience is in September and up to 20th October when the salmon season ends on the River Mourne.

The package also includes three nights’ accommodation in the luxurious Finn Valley self-catering cottages near Strabane. Their four cottages are in a breath taking rural location and are surrounded by natural beauty with views of the Donegal hills. A truly authentic experience, steeped in tradition, attractions & activities. There is a range of eating establishments nearby.

This tour is sure to make your hunting experience truly memorable from beginning to end!
