About

A chance to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and connect with nature.

Begin your journey with a guided Horse riding experience, led by expert instructor Pauline from City of Derry Equestrian. This ride is a fantastic way to connect with nature and enjoy the panoramic views of Derry, Donegal and beyond. Pauline will keep you entertained with some stories about the landscape and local characters as you trek through the lush green fields of the Faughan Valley to Ardmore and its surrounding forest to Slieve Kirk at the foothills of the Sperrins. Here the open landscape changes dramatically as you enter the forest and the rich scent of pine filters into the fresh country air. With deer and other wildlife roaming the forest, you might even catch a glimpse of something extra special!

After an enjoyable day exploring the trails, spend your first of 2 nights in the 4-star White Horse Hotel where you can relax in the hotel's Leisure Club facilities before enjoying a 3-course meal with locally produced and traditionally made options prepared by the hotel's award winning Chef Noel Ward. Your meal will also be served with a bottle of wine.
Continue your journey the next day with an authentic Irish Walking Tour through unique landscape of the Sperrins Uplands. The tour expertly led by local guide Martin Bradley from Landscape and countryside Tours will allow you to embrace the plant life and archaeology of the region’s ancient peatland habitats. After an enjoyable day, out on the hills arrive back at the White Horse Hotel for another delicious 3 course meal and full use of the hotel's Leisure Club facilities. After dinner, relax in the Lounge bar and experience some local history and Irish Folklore during the Storytelling-Seanchai sessions or get your foot tapping to some traditional Irish music.

After a peaceful night’s sleep enjoy a full breakfast and late checkout (so you can enjoy a final swim or relax in the jacuzz)i. As an added treat on check out you’ll be presented with handmade chocolate truffles spiked with local whiskey ‘The Quiet Man’, as a reminder of your trip.
