Welcome to Alive Surf School in Portrush, Northern Ireland. Why not let Hanno, Nick and Hannah take you for a surfing lesson on the Causeway Coast? Your surf lesson with our highly experienced team from Alive is an incredible experience and amazing fun.
Surfing Packages for beginners and advanced, all ages welcome. We believe surfing is a sport for absolutely everybody no matter age, shape, size or fitness. Our classes are suitable for kids from five years and upwards, there is no upper age limit, record is a 77-year-old and we hope we can break that record this year!
Alive is the longest running surf school in Northern Ireland and we pride ourselves on our philosophy – ‘be safe and have fun’.

Learn to surf in Northern Ireland with our internationally experienced surf instructors.Alive Surf School has won several awards and is Ireland’s highest ranked surf school on Tripadvisor. Every instructor is also a qualified beach lifeguard with numerous years of ocean experience. We are also the only surf school in Northern Ireland to use 100% recyclable beginner boards and are among the founding partners of the Green Room Surf Alliance (GRSA), a group surf camps and schools around Europe who promote ecological awareness and sustainable standards in the surf industry. Safety Is Our Number One Priority! All our instructors are fully qualified beach lifeguards and between the team, we have well over 50 years of surfing and beach safety experience making us the most experienced team of surf instructors on the North Coast. We have a 100% safety record, surfing can be fun when done properly.

We can take up to 30 people in a surfing lesson but as few as one so whether you are by yourself or with a group of friends you will fit in just fine. Stand-up Paddleboarding - Causeway Coast Exploration Tours
Just minutes away from the famous Giants Causeway, these tours last for two hours, include all equipment and can be adapted to suit beginners as well as advanced and experienced paddleboarders. The tours can be fully adapted to every level of competency to ensure each and every one will enjoy this grand tour and amazing experience. Beginners will start off with board control and paddle techniques, followed by a short introduction of ocean awareness and safety before heading along the majestic Causeway Coast Cliff Path from the unique vantage point of the sea. While Dolphin sightings cannot be guaranteed, occasional meetings do happen during these stunning experiences.
