Nestled inside Derry’s Walls in the heart of the Craft Village, this charming pantry and grill is open seven days a week and serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. The Soda & Starch experience is underpinned by a passion for using high quality, seasonal ingredients from carefully sourced local suppliers to create delicious authentic cuisine, rooted in Irish cooking traditions and accompanied by huge helpings of our infamous hospitality.

Think traditional Irish comfort foods and home baking that hits the spot – hearty, rustic and filling dishes – simply good, honest food that is big on flavour. Our menu strives to showcase the diversity of Ireland’s rich culinary heritage using traditional Irish dishes passed down for generations that have been updated and given a modern twist. Located in the heart of Derry’s quaint Craft Village, at Soda & Starch you can enjoy all day informal dining, in a relaxed and welcoming environment. With a variety of delicious foods and drinks to cater for all tastes and appetites from a simple sandwich to a four course formal dinner.

Open seven days a week from 10:00 daily, Soda & Starch Pantry and Grill serves: breakfast and brunch; coffee and scones; lunch classics including pies and pasta; daily specials; healthy and hearty soups and sandwiches. In the evenings, from Wednesday to Saturday, we specialise in seafood, steaks and good old fashioned comfort food.
