Cellar Restaurant - Belfast Castle

About

People associate Belfast Castle with weddings, walks on Cave Hill and spectacular views of the city and Belfast Lough. They also come here to eat in the Cellar Restaurant, a cosy candlelit, vaulted space amidst corridors of antiques and antlers.

There's a cheering, warm atmosphere, especially in the adjoining bar, and white linen, whitewashed walls and wooden floors give the restaurant an informal, natural elegance. Starters and mains cover a range of continents and there's a nod to local cuisine with dishes such as potato cake, served with bacon, black pudding, poached egg and a mustard mayo or venison with colcannon. You also have Thai fishcakes or chargrilled chicken with cous cous and spiced tomato, followed by desserts such as deep fried toffee banana with vanilla ice-cream and toffee sauce.

You can now also enjoy the new bar, the Castle Tavern, which has a great value menu and a range of speciality coffees and whiskies.

While you eat you can enjoy traditional music from 20:00 - 10:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.
