WELCOME TO CREGGAN COUNTRY PARK

The Adventure On Your Doorstep

Set up in 1992, we are a not for profit organisation that provides outdoor activities, training, volunteering opportunities and environmental education programme. Our 100-acre site is host to three fresh water lakes, woodland, hedgerows, wildflower meadows, picnic areas and activity centre.

We are a working example of how Green Infrastructure (GI) can bring benefits to people, the environment and the local economy.

WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

Set up by the community for the community

As a registered charity that delivers not for profit outdoor activities, we provide access to recreation, education, training, volunteering and a biodiversity rich site for the community. Activities include water sports, orienteering, geocaching, raft building, free environmental education workshops for schools and annual wildlife and holiday themed events including our popular Hallowe'en Programme.

HOW WE HELP

By providing an outdoor pursuits, education facility and green space we contribute to improving the physical and mental health and wellbeing of the community. We boost the local economy through tourism and job creation and support our young people and their personal development through recreation, volunteering and work experience.  As a neutral space venue, we are used by all sections of the community and continue to promote better cross community relations. We provide a Best Practice example of Green Infrastructure in action.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Making a difference

We have volunteering opportunities for people aged 14+ including outdoor pursuits, biodiversity and outdoor maintenance. Our unique programme 'Biodiversity on Your Doorstep' brings environmental volunteering to people aged 60+ and into care homes to help reduce isolation and loneliness in older people.  Volunteering helps improve physical and mental health, allows volunteers to gain new skills and confidence, make new friends and reconnects people with their community
