"Heaven"

"As a child I was told that there's this place called Heaven, where you get rice pudding with as much brown sugar as you'd like on top and golden spoons to eat it with.

How little did I know that this sweet Heaven, the garden of Eden included, does already exist, here and now, on our planet Earth, and that you don't have to die first to be allowed in.

This little paradise is The Pink Cottage. It's pink and cosy and warm and comfortable. It's a place to relax and to start from on your walking tours along the rocky paths and the coastline."

More About The Inside...

Relax

The large living area is where you can sit and relax and just gaze out the window at the sea view, or read a good book.

Or you can always catch up with your favourite Netflix series on the Smart TV.

There's a comfy sofa with cosy throws to recline on while gazing or reading.

The little dining space is perfect if you just want to eat-in.

There's a writing bureau, should you want to do some work, or send an old fashioned letter! Oh, if you do, you can post it in the red letterbox just outside, daily collections.

There are some board games like the old favourite Scrabble and a small, but growing collection of books.

The original part of the cottage was built around 400 years ago, so we are told. It has lots of original charm, in particular the head height....some doorways are a little small, so mind your head!

Wifi is also good.

Dine

The large living area with TV also incorporates a little dining area.

You'll find a fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle along with utensils and chopping board. Plates, bowls, glasses and wine and Prosecco glasses are supplied too.

All this is so you can easily prepare and heat food and dine-in, if you wish!*

If you love good coffee there's local ground coffee and a cafetiere.

And for tea lovers there's a little selection, including loose leaf tea and an infuser teapot for the perfect brew!

Use the fridge to chill beer, wine or Prosecco, so you can relax and enjoy a glass of something in the evening...maybe even in the Secret Garden, weather permitting!

*Please note, there's no stove top cooker, just the microwave.

Complimentary Breakfast

You'll find some lovely complimentary breakfast items waiting for you to enjoy.

No need to remember to do a shop for basics before you get here!

Here's what you'll find waiting for you:

  • Locally baked bread
  • Local Butter
  • Jams locally made by Annies Delights
  • Luxury Muesli or Irish Organic Porridge Oats (sachets)
  • Ground coffee for the cafetiere

(*we're happy to substitute to lactose or gluten free alternatives)

Wash

The bathroom has a luxurious clawed feet roll-top traditional bath, which I couldn't resist painting pink!

The shower is electric and it's in the bath.

There's complimentary aromatherapy hand, body and hair wash, which are made with all natural ingredients, organic where possible. These are in elegant glass bottles to avoid plastic.

The floor is a vintage design tile with the added luxury of underfloor heating to keep your toes toasty!

And of course, the towels are white and fluffy.

We also provide full length white 100% cotton bath robes for that perfect spa feeling.

And if you do like to soak, you'll find some Pink Cottage Bath Salts - home made own-blend complimentary and rejuvenating to melt away and aches and pains!

Soak

If you do like to soak, you'll find some complimentary Pink Cottage Bath Salts - our own home-made blend with pink Himalayan and sea salts with lavender and bergamot aromatherapy oils.

Relaxing and rejuvenating to melt away and aches and pains!

Sleep Soundly

The double bedroom has a very comfy luxurious king-sized bed with a super quality memory mattress for the ultimate restful nights sleep.

Bed linens are natural 100% cotton premium high-thread count.

The window has a discreet black-out blind should you want to banish the early morning light!
There's phone charging points by the bed and a hairdryer too.

The Secret Garden

You also have private access to the Secret Garden which lies hidden at the bottom of the garden of our holiday cottage.

It's sheltered and secluded with high hedges, looking over the sea...perfect to sit and read and listen to the birds. There's a chiminea for the cooler evenings and a bbq if the weather's good!

I also supply you with some kindling, logs, tea lights, bbq coals, matches...all you need for a couple of evenings to keep warm in the garden while watching the sunset.

The soft chair cushions are kept easily accessible in a storage container at one side of the garden, so it's quick and easy to get comfy and enjoy the sea air.
Bring a good book and if you're still sitting there after the afternoon sun fades, there's a couple of blankets if it gets chilly!

And the best bit...no-one will know you're even there!

And we also offer...

Complimentary Wifi & good 4/5G

All areas within the Pink Cottage have wifi, so if you need to access emails or have online meetings, you will be able to.

"If you want somewhere quiet (very!) and restful with very helpful hosts this is the place for you.
It also happens to be in a superb location with a great walk/jog to the local lighthouse (with stunning views) at Blackhead and all way on the beautiful coastal path to Whitehead."

Norman (Airbnb)

We had a gorgeous two nights stay at the Pink Cottage, Heather has a real eye for interiors and attention to detail.
Little touches like pillow spray and a bath salt blend to avail of in the free-standing tub made it feel homely and considered.

Leanne & Karl

A wonderful tranquil experience. This cottage is so gorgeous, I believe Heather is a designer and it really shows.
Every little detail is fantastic from the amazingly comfortable bed to the to the beautiful bespoke bath salts.
From the minute I arrived I could feel myself relaxing, it would be impossible not to!
A complete 5 star experience and highly recommended.
Thank you

Lesley Garrett

The place was spotless and cosy and we enjoyed sitting out in the garden amongst the cow parsley and fairy lights which Heather had set up for us.
The cottage has beautiful views out towards the sea and is well situated to avail of a coastal walk down to Whitehead.
Heather and David went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay which we really appreciated.
We hope to be back!
