After many months of staying indoors and close to home, we are all so excited to make up for lost time on our next Giant Adventure! As we start to get out and about, let’s try to be mindful that our stunning landscapes and outdoor spaces are popular destinations for locals and visitors alike at the moment and some are experiencing record numbers.  By planning ahead we can help places prepare for our visit.

Here are some of our top tips to make sure we all have a great day out:

1. Always plan ahead

  • Check ahead and confirm that the place you want to visit is open and if there are Visitor Management guidelines in place.
  • Have a back-up plan.  If you get there and it's very busy, where else could you go?

2. Book where possible

  • Many experiences that may not have required reservations previously, do so now.
  • Please check and book your tickets online to avoid disappointment.
  • You will help our tourism providers to manage visitor numbers and provide an enjoyable visit for everyone.

3. Be patient with providers and staff

  • We are all adjusting to longer waiting times and new guidelines, including our tourism industry.
  • Your patience, support and understanding means so much to staff who look forward to welcoming you back.

4. Try off-peak times or quieter times

  • Try mid-week or non-peak times for popular locations that tend to book up quickly.
  • Why not head out to Belfast or Derry~Londonderry? With lots of open spaces and an abundance of cafés to enjoy a coffee and a sweet treat, our cities are a fantastic place to explore.
