The Surfer's House

About

Owned and designed by a surfer and an artist… make yourself at home.

The Surfer's House, in the popular coastal resort of Portrush, is a well situated and comfortable base for both human & canine visitors to the Causeway Coast.. sightseers, beach bums, surfers, cyclists, golfers, walkers and film crew have all made themselves at home here.

It’s a modern, spacious three story house located in a quiet residential area one mile from the centre of Portrush, the beaches, restaurants and golf course.

The space

The house is close enough to the peninsula to be very convenient but situated just that little bit out of the way, on the edge of town, to side step the hustle and bustle of a popular seaside resort.

Portrush is perfectly placed as a base to explore the whole of the north coast, situated as it is in the centre of the most popular visitor attractions across the Causeway Coast. There are rail links to Derry and Belfast.

The Space

When you book The Surfer's House you get the entire house. It’s a modern three story townhouse, carefully decorated with a coastal feel using vintage furniture and other considered pieces. The Surfer’s House has its own driveway, front door and back door with a small enclosed garden. Guests are often surprised by how spacious the house is and whilst we could host larger groups we decided that six humans (plus canine guests) was a perfect number to allow our guests space to relax after a day exploring the coast.

Top Floor

Master Suite with distant sea views and velux sky lights allowing lots of light to flood into this extremely large room with ensuite. On the same floor we have a double room and a twin room with a shared WC.

Middle Floor

On this floor we have the cosy living room with distant sea views, double doors to a small balcony, a wood burner and solid reclaimed wooden floor from the Guinness factory in Dublin. Also on this floor is the 4th bedroom with double bed. Next to this room is the Main Bathroom with free standing bath and separate power shower.

Ground Floor

On the ground floor we have a large open plan kitchen, with dining and snug area. The kitchen is well equipped, perfect for cooking if you fancy a quiet night in. We know how important it is to get caffeined up before a day of exploration so with that in mind we created a separate coffee station. A solid farmhouse table is the perfect place to gather round to plan your day or discuss your adventures. Also on the ground floor is the garage, with washing machine and drier. We have a selection of wet suits here and lots of room for any sporting equipment you may wish to bring. The entrance hall has space for coats and shoes. There is also a WC.

Rear Garden

The south facing rear garden is small but bursting with plants (what Sara lacks in garden expertise, she makes up for in enthusiasm) It’s a wonderful little sun trap (when we get sun) with a couple of seating areas. Perfect for morning coffee or evening drinks. It’s fully enclosed and only accessible through the house.
