Charming 200 year old Irish cottage set just 1.5 miles outside the beautiful Georgian village of Hillsborough. Guests have full use of the cottage, which includes an open fire, whitewashed walls and large farmhouse kitchen. There is also a garden and parking for 3 cars. The cottage has been fully certified by Tourism Northern Ireland.

This is a truly unique property representing the essence of a traditional Irish cottage with quarry tile floors, whitewashed walls and open fire. The character of the cottage has been retained while offering all the modern facilities for the comfort of guests including contemporary linens, power shower and large well equipped farmhouse kitchen. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement.

Guests can access the cottage via private entrance accessed through electric gates. Due to its historic nature, the cottage is not suitable for wheelchair access and there is also restricted head height in some rooms.

The owners live on site in the farmhouse and are available for assistance if needed. The cottage is set in a charming rural situation with the benefit of being only one and a half miles from Hillsborough. The village offers many attractions including Historic Palaces Hillsborough Castle; several award winning restaurants; coffee shops; boutiques; a forest park with lake and a new children's play park.

Getting around:
There is ample parking for up to 3 cars in the grounds of the cottage and further parking available on request. There are bus links to Belfast, Newry and Dublin within 3 miles of the property and the nearest train station is in Lisburn 7 miles away.

Other things to note:
The cottage sits within the grounds of an old farm with lovely trees surrounding. It benefits from completely separate access and has its own private grounds including a garden area for the exclusive use of the guests. If you are travelling with infants, a cot and high chair can be provided at no extra cost. If you are travelling with children under 8 please let us know and we can supply outside toys such as bike/ trikes/football/beach toys There are a also a selection of board games and dvd's available for guests to use.
