The Anchor Apartments - 1 bedroom unit

About

Apartment 2B is full of character and charm, sleeping a maximum of 3. With a spacious living area, bedroom with two single beds. A bathroom with separate power shower and bath. The kitchen is fully equipped for all self catering needs, there is a portable BBQ, picnic basket and flask kit. For rainy days there are plenty of board games, books and playing cards.

The Anchor Apartments are located close to the worlds oldest clubhouse; Ardglass Golf Club, dating back to 1405AD, it is a two minute walk from the apartment. Locally there are plenty of attractions to visit, one next door to us; the historic Jordan's Castle a 15th Century tower house. Straight across from us is Ardglass Harbour, famous for cod, herring and mackerel.
The Lecale Walk encompasses Ardglass on its route, it is the end of section 3 and the start of section 4 (Ardglass to Tyrella). Throughout this walk you take in tower houses, castles and ancient monuments.

Beaches nearby include; Coney Island a 10 minute walk and Ballyhornan a 10 minute drive. Another 10 minute drive from Ardglass is Castleward, part of the national trust and home to the set of Winterfell and Whispering Wood of Game of Thrones. At Castleward you can use the trails for walking and biking, bikes can be hired if required.

A short drive to Newcastle will bring you to the Mourne Mountains for many different hikes, the most popular is Slieve Donard. It is not one for the faint hearted as it is Northern Ireland's highest peak and can average 5 hours but with breath-taking views at the top on a clear day it is most certainly worth it.
