Quiet residential location opposite the Exploris Aquarium with many scenic walks including Nugent's Wood and only 2 minutes from the waterfront marina, Strangford Ferry and a host of restaurants. An EV vehicle charger is located in the adjacent public carpark. Private parking at Ropewalk Cottage and additional free parking in the adjacent public car park (Exploris Aquarium) if required. Portaferry is ideally positioned to explore the Ards Peninsula with it's fabulous scenery, wildlife, outdoor nature, visitor attractions including Mount Stewart, Castle Espie, Kearney Village and many beaches within a few miles. Arts & Crafts are plentiful in this area with Eden Pottery, Cuan Crafts and lots of antiques and curios to be found in the Georgian village of Greyabbey.

Lots of French brocante finds and artwork by local NI artisans decorate the studio for you to enjoy.

The Portico of Ards which hosts a fabulous events calendar, Exploris Aquarium & Seal Sanctuary, Cuan Crafts are all on our doorstep to keep your entertained, while Echlinville Distillery is a short drive away and you can discover the local craft gins and historic whiskey brands.

National Trust Castleward, and home to Game of Thrones, Winterfell is located just a 3km outside Strangford, while Mount Stewart is only 24km away and a stop off in the Georgian village of Greyabbey is a must with its fabulous Abbey ruins and abundance of antique and vintage shops to explore.

Beautiful walks and quiet beaches are plentiful and all within 10km radius from Ropewalk Cottage, including Nugent's Wood, Knockinelder Beach and Kearney Village
