Huntley Bed & Breakfast

About

Huntley (c. 1820) has been in my family since 1928 and is full of character and history. A unique property, only 5 miles from Belfast city centre, it is surrounded by a well maintained walled garden and grounds.

Each bedroom has a king-size (UK) bed, electric blanket and a hairdryer and, although the bathroom is not en-suite, there will be a maximum of four guests sharing. The bedrooms have original wooden shutters and different views of the garden. Free WiFi available throughout.

Breakfast consists of juice, fresh fruit, yoghurt, muesli, home-made granola, bread, teas/coffee, and the option of bacon, eggs and sausages. When available, there may be fresh fruit from the garden, and all jams/preserves are home-made with garden produce.

Huntley is the perfect base from which to explore Northern Ireland, as many of the main attractions are within easy driving distance: Giant’s Causeway and Game of Thrones film locations, Strangford Lough and the Ards Peninsula, Newcastle and the Mourne Mountains to name a few. Two golf clubs and Sir Thomas & Lady Dixon Park are all within walking distance and all the major visitor attractions in the city (St. George's Market, Titanic Belfast, City Hall, Ulster Museum & Botanic Gardens, Cathedral Quarter) are easily accessible. Convenient for both City and International airports, there is plenty of free parking at the property, although access not suitable for large vans/lorries.

The house has featured in two BBC dramas: We're Doomed - The Dad's Army Story (2015) and Dave Allen at Peace (2017), with other projects in the pipeline. Antonia has also hosted World Tai Chi & Qigong events, both in the walled garden and the Studio annexe (80m2 and available for guests’ use) and walking groups with www.walkitoffni.com

Guests always receive a warm welcome from Antonia who, during the past four years, has hosted more than 1,000 visitors from all over the world, whilst maintaining a consistently high standard of hospitality.
