About

Wee Buns is situated just 45 minutes from Belfast, and five minutes from Junction 15 on the M1, but driving up the quiet country lane to our home and cookery school, you couldn’t feel further removed from city life.

Our relaxed and friendly lessons take place in a purpose-built kitchen on the outskirts of Moy, County Tyrone. We’re surrounded by rolling green fields, views of the Sperrin Mountains and Belfast Hills, and a beautiful garden filled with flowers, apple and plum trees and vegetable patches, reflecting owner Mary Anne Mackle’s passion for homegrown produce.

This love of local, seasonal ingredients extends to Wee Buns; from the organic stoneground flour in our Bread Baking lessons, to the creamy Northern Irish butter and flavour-packed fresh rhubarb in our Cake Making and Spring Baking classes.

Whether you’re a baking novice or a seasoned home cook, we have hands-on and demonstration-based classes to suit, and recipes to take from our kitchen to yours.

Learn how to Cook the Season, discover Traditional Irish Baking skills making soda farls on a griddle belonging to Mary Anne’s grandmother, or tour her uncle’s nearby Armagh orchard and hear local tales before returning to Wee Buns to bake Bramley apple treats.

With help from Mary Anne, who trained as a chef at Michelin-starred restaurants and the renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School and ran a stall selling bakes and jams at Belfast’s St George’s Market, you’ll take your everyday cooking and baking to a new level.

And the best part? Anything made during the class is yours to bring home!

Classes for private groups can be arranged. Please email info@weebuns.com for enquiries.
