The Loft

About

The Loft self catering apartment is hidden away from the main road, in the midst of green fields on a working farm. It is only a 10 minute walk into the historic village of Ardglass with its marina, castles, world class golf links, bars, cafes, restaurants and beaches. We are a 2 hour drive from Dublin and 1 hour from Belfast.

The first floor apartment has 2 bedrooms, the larger one holding 2 double beds and the smaller one with 2 twin beds. There is a full bathroom with walk-in shower and a kitchen\living area that is fully equipped. Heating is supplied by oil fired radiators which have thermostatic valves so you can adjust the heat to suit yourself. All windows in the roof have blackout blinds to keep the early morning sun from disturbing your sleep.
There is a large enclosed garden with play equipment for children and a barbeque area. There is also a paddock that may be available if you are heading to Tyrella point to point or Eventing Ireland. Downpatrick racecourse is only a 15 minute drive away if you are a race fan.
10 miles away in Strangford, is the stunning National Trust property of Castle Ward, the location for Winterfell on the HBO hit series Game of Thrones®. Two of the direwolves, Summer & Greywind live in the village and Game of Throne® tours can be booked locally.
A new craft brewery has opened in Ardglass called Lecale Ale, tours can be arranged and the ale, lager and stout can be sampled in The Old Commercial Bar, a traditional Irish pub in a 150yr old building located near the gates of the golf club.
Tee times for Ardglass Golf Club, which has the oldest clubhouse in the world, can be arranged on request. The beautiful area of The Mournes just 30 minutes drive away can be explored from your base in Ardglass and for golfers, Newcastle, nestled at the foot of the Mourne Mountains is home to Royal County Down.
The Loft has lots of free parking available and is very private with no immediate neighbours except for a few cattle and a couple of horses.
