The Alms House

About

This beautifully situated detached property is a 200 year old Alms House only metres from the entrance to Castle Ward, which is enjoying a surge in popularity thanks to its Game of Thrones and Winterfell tours.

The historic house has 2 comfortable double bedrooms with built in wardrobe space together with a master bedroom boasting a large double bed, ensuite facilities, walk in wardrobe and conservatory.

There are 2 living rooms with Sky TV, a bathroom with bath and overhead electric shower and kitchen with cooker, microwave, dishwasher and large fridge/freezer. The dining area easily accommodates eight people.

It’s a great base from which to explore the stunning countryside around Strangford Lough and is ideal for walkers, cyclists, canoeing and kayaking. Newcastle and the famous Mourne Mountains are within a half-hour drive.

Strangford, which is five minutes away by car, is one of the most picturesque villages in Northern Ireland. It has shops, pubs, award-winning restaurants and a ferry terminal for the short sea trip to Portaferry and the Ards Peninsula.
