About

The Society’s library holds books, archives and artefacts relating to the history of Presbyterianism in Ireland that constitute a valuable resource for academic, local and family history. The collection includes over 12,000 pamphlets, journals and magazines, congregational histories, photographs and a number of congregational records as well as microfilm copies of ‘The Witness’ newspaper and microfilm copies of the records of Presbyterian, Non-Subscribing and Reformed Presbyterian congregations. The Society also has biographical information on Presbyterian Church ministers and resources for the history of congregations of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. In addition, the Society has an active publications programme, details of which can be found on the Society’s website.

Directions from Town:
The library and archive of the Society is located on the ground floor of 26 College Green just beside Union College and near to Queen’s University. Take the route from the centre of Belfast via Botanic Avenue - College Green is on the left hand side just before Union Theological College. Botanic Railway Station is a quarter of a mile from the library. Use Metro Bus 7A or 7B from Howard Street in Belfast City Centre and alight at College Green on University Avenue.
