About

Built in 1803 and formerly the Ulster Bank, the four star Dufferin Coaching Inn & Hall retains many of the historic building’s original features and is situated in the shadows of Killyleagh Castle, one of the oldest inhabited castles in Ireland, and near the shores of Strangford Lough - one of Europe’s richest locations for marine wildlife.

Featuring seven comfortable, unique and well-appointed en-suite guest rooms, Dufferin Coaching Inn offers a unique and welcoming home from home perfect for long or short-term stays. Free WIFI and Free Parking.

Next door you will find the 120-year old Dufferin Arms, an award winning traditional bar and restaurant serving excellent food from local producers and live traditional music on Saturday afternoons until late evening. The Smugglers Table is also a popular hidden gem in Killyleagh where guests enjoy local cuisine against the gorgeous backdrop of Killyleagh Harbour.

Just a quick 30 minute journey from Belfast, guests will have the chance to experience Northern Ireland’s picturesque countryside and the breath-taking Mourne Mountains, take in outdoor activities including water sport, fishing, golfing, hill walking and cycling. Sample some of the finest local cuisine with renowned restaurants including Balloo House and The Poacher’s Pocket just a stone’s throw from the guesthouse. Killyleagh also offers easy access to Downpatrick, St. Patrick’s resting place, and historic sites including Nendrum Monastic site. You can also experience the excitement of the award winning HBO show Game of Thrones® by visiting Castle Ward aka Winterfell; the home of House Stark. This is a mere 25 minute drive away with lots of fun activities including Game of Thrones® archery.
