General information

Coastguard Boat House on Belfast Lough For EHOD 2019

The Coastguard Boat House on Belfast Lough is the only Coastguard Boat House you can sleep in on the Lough.

Opening very recently in December 2018, the Boat House has retained many of its original features which dates back to the 1850s (the period of the United Irishman Rebellion), this includes an original barred window, wooden beams, the boat house ceiling rigging and hooks. The Boat House slipway is still in place as are the remains of the old Coal pier that can be seen from the launching window of the Boat House. This opening will include a short talk on the Boat House, the role of the Coastguards during the United Irishman rebellion-as well as a walk through of the small building.
