About

Carlingford Lough Ferry provides a 20 minute ferry service across Carlingford Lough, transporting passengers and all sizes and types of Vehicles to and from Greenore in Co-Louth and Greencastle in Co. Down.

While onboard passengers can enjoy panoramic views of one of Ireland’s most scenic and legendary loughs, surrounded by the majestic Mourne Mountains and the dramatic Cooley Peninsula from the visitor viewing deck.

On Arrival to Greencastle you are within easy access of numerous places of interest, breathing taking backdrops and unique natural spaces within the Mourne Gullion Strangford Geopark. Northern Ireland’s newest UNESCO geopark.

From Greencastle, continue your journey along the scenic Mourne Coastal Route, visiting towns and villages, such as Warrenpoint, Rostrevor, Kilkeel, Annalong, Newcastle and further afield in either direction

On arrival to Greenore, the picturesque heritage town of Carlingford is located just 3km from our terminal. Enjoy a day exploring Carlingford’s castles, restaurants, boutique shops and greenway coastal walk before continuing your onward journey, towards Omeath, Newry, Cooley, Dundalk or further afield. 

The ferry carries all categories of vehicles inc: Cars, Coaches, Caravans, Campervans & Motorbikes.

The service operates between Easter and Halloween.
