Tours in Northern Ireland 'improving in quality'

15 September 2009 -

The great tours in Northern Ireland which thousands of people enjoy every year are getting even better, according to one specialist.

Frances Tuke, a spokeswoman for ABTA - The Travel Association, recently stated that there are plenty of reasons why people are choosing to go on tours in Northern Ireland, such as the beautiful scenery in the country.

"The UK market has put a lot of effort into promoting the UK. Also, they have been upgrading the products that we've got here - we've got hotels and parks opening for example," she explained.

Ms Tuke added that the sheer range of activities in Northern Ireland means that people within the UK have no reason to venture further afield.

Figures from the Office for National Statistics recently revealed that outbound travel from Britain was down 18 per cent in the first four months of 2009, as people chose to sample the attractions in Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK rather than venturing abroad.ADNFCR-1859-ID-19360065-ADNFCR
