11 June 2009 -

Fans of music in Northern Ireland will be able to see one of Ireland's best-known international bluegrass artists perform the opening act for the Larne Alive Sister Cities Festival.

The Niall Toner Band - a Country Music Association's International Award nominee - will take to the stage at the McNeill Theatre in Larne on June 12th.

Rachael McMaster, event organiser, commented: "Larne Alive are proud to present this world-class artist in what is hoped to be an excellent night's entertainment right here in Larne. This really is an event not to be missed."

The band will be joined by Prison Love, who will perform bluegrass, old-time, gospel and Cajun tunes.

Made up of events taking place throughout the summer, the Larne Alive Sister Cities Festival will feature barn dance Haste to the Wedding on June 26th and US-style performances by jazz bands, jive dancers, American footballers and cheerleaders at various locations around the town on June 13th.
