Belfast is set to become home to some of the most impressive accommodation in Northern Ireland after plans were revealed to build a five-star, Titanic-themed hotel at the shipyard where the vessel was built.
A planning application has been submitted to turn the listed building into a 90-room hotel.
The scheme is part of a wider regeneration of the Titanic Quarter and a spokesman for the developers, Titanic Quarter, said it will be some of the most sought-after accommodation in Northern Ireland.
"Given the enormous global interest in the Titanic and the building's close association with the ship, such a hotel will add to the Northern Ireland tourist experience," the representative said.
The hotel will form part of the Titanic Signature Project, which will include the restoration of the Thompson Dock and the slipways where the ship was built in what will become one of the biggest attractions in Northern Ireland.
In other news, honeymooners can enjoy cheap accommodation in Northern Ireland after Premier Inn recently launched its budget post-nuptial package for just £58.
