The Liquorice Stick All-Sorts in Lisburn

28 November 2008 -

Travellers keen to sample some music in Northern Ireland should head to the Island Arts Centre in Lisburn tomorrow (Saturday), where The Liquorice Stick All-Sorts will perform.

Drummer Paul Clarvis, clarinet player Alan Barnes and Jim Hart on the vibraphone formed the band to celebrate the Benny Goodman small groups.

They take sounds and influences from across the jazz genre, using music from earlier periods to create new and modern sounds.

At the show, visitors will be entertained by a group representing one side of the wide range of music in Northern Ireland.

There will be lots of solo performances and free passages, ensuring the evening is a fun and diverse one.

It will begin at 20:00 GMT, with entry costing £10.

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland native Kieran Goss and his band will return to the country for a performance at the Island Arts Centre on Sunday December 28th, with tickets priced at £10.
