TV chef supports sporting events in Northern Ireland

26 October 2009 -

One of Northern Ireland's favourite TV chefs is urging people to support the 2010 Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon.

Jenny Bristow, who is renowned for her love of food in Northern Ireland, is encouraging people to participate in next year's event and generate funds for good causes in the process.

The personality is a big supporter of Marie Curie Cancer Care, which has been nominated as the official local charity for the marathon, and will be taking part in the race, which is one of the biggest yearly events in Northern Ireland's capital.

She commented: "You can opt to take part in the fun run, a leg of the relay, walk or run the full 26 miles - it doesn't really matter, what's important is taking part and raising some much needed cash for a charity."

Next year's event will take place on May 3rd, with hundreds of amateur and professional runners aiming to take the crown which was won by John Mutai the last time the race was held.ADNFCR-1859-ID-19425739-ADNFCR
