Saddle up for the 'wonderful' horse show

29 September 2008 -

World-class showjumping will return for the third consecutive year as the cream of riding talent from Ireland, Britain and the rest of the world descend on Belfast's Odyssey for the Northern Ireland International Horse Show.

Featuring a display of the horsemanship of Zaporozhin Cossacks, the famed noble warriors from the Ukraine, as well as daredevil stunt riding from the returning Jean-Francois Pignon, the show will give families three days of fun and entertainment.

This year's event has seen record numbers of equestrian talent compete for a place in the show, where there will be grand prix and speed grand prix events in addition to the exciting Puissance with its famous red Lagan Wall.

Hubert Pignolet, a French international showjumper, said last year's exhibition was a truly memorable experience, adding it is "a wonderful show unlike any other we have in France".

More than 20,000 people are expected to attend this event and it could be a welcome addition to any tourists Northern Ireland experience.
