Restoration of attraction in Northern Ireland is lauded

30 October 2009 -

The restoration of one of the most stunning attractions in Northern Ireland has seen it pick up a number of awards.

Belfast's Ulster Hall scooped a major gong at the Meetings Industry Marketing Awards, which recognise buildings and structural achievements from around the world.

The venue won the silver accolade in the Best Brand Marketing Campaign category, while Graham Construction's recent work on the building won the Restoration category at the tenth Construction Excellence Awards.

Councillor William Humphrey, chairman of Belfast City Council's development committee, said the restoration of one of the top attractions in Northern Ireland was one of the most complex undertaken in the city and Ulster Hall is worthy of the accolades.

"The new Ulster Hall brand - based around the iconic Mulholland Organ - was developed to reflect the ethos of the restoration programme, which has seen the Ulster Hall take on a new lease of life and become a place all the people of Belfast can enjoy," he said.

Since the refurbishment programme was completed, the venue has played host to some of the biggest musical events in Northern Ireland, with Hayley Westenra set to be the next one to fill the Ulster Hall with her melodies on December 7th.ADNFCR-1859-ID-19434946-ADNFCR
