Celebrated psychologists are to make a series of presentations at Queen's University, Belfast next month, it has been revealed.

The event, organised by the Northern Ireland Branch of the British Psychological Society with support from the university's school of psychology, will be free to members of the public and see experts discuss why people behave the way they do.

Big Brother psychologist Professor Geoffrey Beattie will show how reading someone's body language can help people see what they are thinking, while forensic psychologist Dr Carol Ireland will explain how psychology can help in crisis situations.

The presentations will take place at the Whitla Hall, Queen's University on Wednesday March 4th from 09.30 GMT to 15.30 GMT.

Earlier this week, it was announced that the Belfast Book Festival will this week see writers, poets, artists and journalists descend on the city to celebrate literature in Northern Ireland.

The celebration will feature readings and talks covering a wide range of literary genres and run from February 24th to March 1st.
