A new guide has been launched to emphasise the beauty of Northern Ireland's landscape and show how many stunning spots can be reached by public transport.
Rose Cremin, biodiversity officer at travel company Translink, which released the guide, commented that the brochure highlights the country's unique landscape and the fact that travelling on public transport can help make outdoor adventures more sustainable.
She added: "We are very fortunate to have such a rich and varied natural landscape on our doorsteps just waiting to be discovered, from windy shingle beaches to sheltered wooded glens, sweeping mountain slopes to tranquil canal walkways."
The guide features holiday and short-break hotspots including the Newry Canal Way, Castle Archdale Country Park in Fermanagh and the world-renowned Causeway Coastal Way.
Beginning on May 3rd, Kilbroney Park in Newry and Mourne district will play host to a moving dawn chorus of birdsong when chiffchaffs, blackcaps, willow warblers and skylarks congregate in the area.
