The reopening of the historic Belfast City Hall has been marked with an evening of music in Northern Ireland's capital designed to promote health and wellbeing.
Hundreds of people turned up at the venue to celebrate its multi-million pound refurbishment, with older people particularly enticed by the promise of swing dancing.
Councillor Pat McCarthy, chairman of the Environmental Health committee, and Dame Mary Peters, Lord Lieutenant of Northern Ireland, welcomed people to the event.
Mr McCarthy said it was important for older tourists and locals to attend, as the City Hall was redesigned with every age group in mind.
"This event is the first chance many will have to see the newly-refurbished public rooms and updated displays, visit the exhibition space and new coffee shop," he said.
The people of Belfast will look into its history on November 4th, when a symposium takes place at Ulster Hall to mark the 400th anniversary of it becoming a city.
