Holidaymakers to get Tall Ships 'sneak preview'

9 April 2009 -

Visitors to Belfast next week will be able to take a free tour onboard the German Navy's sail training vessel Gorch Fock.

Those looking for activities in Northern Ireland on April 10th and 12th will be able to see many of the historic features that will be showcased in Belfast between 13th and 16th August during the culmination of the Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge 2009.

A Belfast Harbour Commissioners spokesperson told GoToBelfast.com: "It is very seldom that visits of this nature are open to public so this is an opportunity not to be missed this Easter."

The representative added that to facilitate the free event, parking has been made available for visitors at Ballast Quay and Corry Road in the Port of Belfast.

Over 400,000 people are expected to attend the festivities accompanying the finale of the Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge.

Celebrations will include music, street theatre, fireworks displays and performances for the whole family to enjoy.
