'God-given talent' to perform in Belfast

14 April 2009 -

A musician who has been described as having a "God-given talent" will perform in Belfast later this week.

Eoghan Colgan's gig at the Empire in the capital on April 15th is part of a UK tour that will also take in dates at Queen Margaret Union in Glasgow, Ryedale Live Pickering in Yorkshire and Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh.

The tour will coincide with the release of his single Dream Satellite on April 20th.

Colgan worked as a doctor after studying medicine at Queens University in Belfast but decided to pursue his musical career full-time following his victory in the O2 Undiscovered Music Bursary in 2007.

Judge Amanda Ghost, president of Epic Records, commented: "He is the only artist in the competition with a God-given talent. That being his incredible voice. With the right help and development he could go on to sell millions of records."

Music fans looking for events in Northern Ireland will also be able to see rock group The Answer when they showcase new tunes from their second album at their upcoming Belfast performance on April 20th at Mandela Hall.
