Giant's Causeway receives excellence award

One of the most famous attractions in Northern Ireland has been given an award for its contribution to enhancing the country as a tourist destination.

The Giant's Causeway Visitor Centre received the All Ireland Award of Excellence for the eighth year in a row after providing the best customer service to travellers to the destination over the last 12 months.

A survey by one of the leading providers of tours in Northern Ireland, CIE Tours International, revealed that the staff at the facility provide the most welcoming atmosphere of any tourist attraction.

The accolade was welcomed by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, which endorsed the role played by customer care in delivering a "quality visitor experience" at the attraction.

Meanwhile, the historic landmark recently hosted the annual Giant's Causeway Marathon, which saw runners race past Dunseverick Harbour, White Park Bay and Ballintoy Harbour and sample some of the beautiful nature in Northern Ireland en route to the finish line.
