Holidaymakers looking for tours in Northern Ireland will have two chances to visit Ram's Island as part of Antrim Borough's Summer Festival this year, it has been revealed.
The event will include a boat trip across Lough Neagh and allow visitors to learn about the diverse history and wildlife of the island.
So many people booked for the initial visit on June 20th that another boat trip has been scheduled take place on July 4th.
Karen Steele, development manager for the council's visitor servicing department, explained: "As numbers are limited, pre-booking is essential. See the remains of a Round Tower, and 'Cottage Orne', the tree-lined avenue and gardens and evidence of the presence of the American army during World War II."
Earlier this month, a new 60-berth marina opened on the shore of Lough Neagh and planning permission was granted for 24 holiday homes overlooking the marina, with development due to start soon.
