Extended initiative to highlight attractions in Northern Ireland

20 July 2009 -

An initiative to promote art galleries in Belfast is to be extended over the summer months to encourage even greater attendance.

The Late Night Art scheme, which involves establishments' staying open until 21:00 BST on the first Thursday of every month, has been a success so far.

Now the initiative will run until the end of September in order to allow more people to see attractions in Northern Ireland.

In addition, tourists and locals will now be able to pay late night trips on Sundays, when famous Belfast artists will be hosting workshops and talks.

There will also be tours arranged around the cultural Cathedral Quarter, where a number of other events in Northern Ireland will be taking place, including music concerts and a look around the shipyard where the Titanic was built.

In other news, fans of music in Northern Ireland may wish to visit the Belfast City Blues Festival Weekend from August 28th to 30th, where performers will include the acclaimed Rab McCullough Blues Band.ADNFCR-1859-ID-19272242-ADNFCR
