Kilbroney Park in Newry and Mourne district will play host to a moving and impressive dawn chorus of birdsong on May 3rd.
Early risers hoping to enjoy the best of nature in Northern Ireland will be able to see resident songbirds, such as the blackbird, robin or skylark, joined by summer visitors including chiffchaffs, blackcaps and willow warblers.
With help from experienced guides, visitors will be able to learn about the different birds they hear and how to identify each of them from their song.
Sharon Carroll, outreach and learning manager with the Ulster Wildlife Trust, commented: "Spring has truly sprung at Kilbroney and with it comes an awe-inspiring symphony that knocks socks off anything you'd hear in a tropical rainforest."
Visitors to Londonderry, also known as Derry, are being encouraged to take part in a nature photography competition.
Entitled Backyard Biodiversity, the event will encourage holidaymakers to submit their best snaps of the region's wildlife.
