Canadian students enjoy Ballycastle visit

26 November 2008 -

A group of Canadian students embarked on a visit to Ballycastle recently to learn about issues including migration and multiculturalism, among other topics, reports the Ballymoney Times.

The participants, from Memorial University in St John's Newfoundland, attended a semester called Britain, Ireland and a changing European Union.

While in the country, they also embarked on a trip down the coast road to Ballycastle in order to learn about how small rural locations work in Northern Ireland.

Katherine Side, a lecturer who was making a return visit to Ballycastle, told the news provider what they learnt has helped paint the country in a different light.

"It certainly enriched our experience and understanding of Northern Ireland," she added.

Ballycastle is a seaside town on the most north-easterly point of County Antrim and boasts wonderful scenery, making it a great holiday destination for couples or families looking for a break.
