Cabaret 'to appear in Belfast'

12 May 2009 -

Visitors to Belfast looking for theatre events in Northern Ireland can catch performances of movie favourite Cabaret at the Grand Opera House.

Samantha Barks, the runner-up from hit BBC series I'd Do Anything, stars as Sally Bowles, who performs nightly at the infamous Kit Kat Klub, while renowned dancer Wayne Sleep reprises his role as the notorious Emcee. Tickets for the musical are currently on sale from £13.

The show will run from May 25th to 30th and features some of the most iconic songs in musical theatre including Mein Herr, Maybe This Time and of course Cabaret, with the performance put together by Bob Fosse, the same choreographer who has organised Chicago, to be shown at the Grand Opera House in August.

Chicago stars Gary Wilmot as Billy Flynn and Emma Barton from EastEnders as Roxie Hart.

The tale of a nightclub singer, a double-murderess, a smooth-talking lawyer and a women's cell block will open on August 24th and run until September 5th.
